How to plant cabbage

Watering and feeding seedlings

For the first feeding of seedlings, it is recommended to use a solution based on 10 g of potassium chloride, 25 g of ammonium nitrate and 40 g of superphosphate, diluted in ten liters of warm water. The first top dressing is performed approximately twelve days after the picking of plants.

The second top dressing of cabbage seedlings is recommended to be carried out with a solution of ammonium nitrate at the rate of 30-40 g per ten liters of water. Such top dressing is performed two weeks after the first fertilizer application. For the third feeding of cabbage seedlings, a solution of 20 g of potassium chloride, 30 g of ammonium nitrate nitrate and 80 g of superphosphate per ten liters of water is used. Top dressing is carried out shortly before planting seedlings on beds in open ground. After feeding, it is imperative to carry out abundant watering of a vegetable crop.

If the cabbage beds have not been properly and properly prepared since the fall, as well as not filled with organic or high-quality mineral nutrient complexes, then you will need to fill the main nutrient complex directly into the planting hole before planting the plants. Mid-ripening varieties should be fed at least three or four times for the entire growing season.

Watering and feeding on ridges

After planting seedlings of cabbage of Nadezhda cabbage, the vegetable culture should be watered every two or three days at the rate of 8-9 liters of water per square meter. Under the conditions of traditional agricultural technology, in order to obtain large and optimally dense heads of cabbage, one cannot do without systematic fertilizer application.

The first fertilizer application with nitrogen-containing compounds is carried out approximately two weeks after planting in open ground. In rainy weather, it is recommended to spread fertilizers on the surface of the soil around the vegetable crop, followed by loosening the soil. When using solutions spent 20-25 g of urea per 10 liters of water. The standard flow rate of this solution is 1.5 liters per plant.

The mineral type of top dressing can be replaced with a diluted solution of chicken manure or slurry. The second feeding of cabbage is carried out three weeks after the first fertilizer application. As such top dressing, ready-made complex fertilizer compositions are used, which should be diluted in accordance with the attached instructions.
